Whitney Houston’s Mom Cissy Slams Bobby Brown over “Disturbing” Drug Allegations

Late Whitney Houston‘s mom, Cissy Houston is not impressed with the direction Bobby brown‘s interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts earlier this week went.

The 82-year-old gospel singer is disappointed Bobby chose to focus more on her late daughter and grand-daughter Bobbi Kristina, as she feels he could have shied away from making unwarranted allegations.

During the interview, Brown had taken responsibility for not being a proper parent to Bobbi, admitted to hitting Whitney and also alleged he saw her do drugs for the first time on their wedding day.

“Last night I saw Bobby Brown’s interview with Robin Roberts. It was disturbing. Although the interview was supposed to promote his autobiography, he never spoke about his parents and siblings and any issues they might have or have had that impacted and may continue to impact on every little step he takes. Instead he chose to concentrate his comments primarily on Whitney. I can’t help but wonder why.” Cissy said to PEOPLE.

Cissy said she would rather Brown had made the allegations when his wife and daughter were alive, as they would be able to defend any false claims.

Cissy further blamed Brown for not being protective enough of Whitney, and hopes to re-unite with her departed daughter and grand-daughter some day.

“I am deeply disappointed that this interview to promote the story of Bobby’s life seemed to be more of an exposé on Whitney’s life. My problem with Bobby has always been that he became her husband but not her helpmate or protector. My prayer for Nippy and Krissi is that they will soon rest in peace. My prayer for me is that someday, somewhere beyond the horizon where we cannot see, I will be with them again . . . and Joy will come in the morning.” she said to the publication.

Whitney died tragically in 2012 at the Beverly Hilton hotel ahead of the Grammy Awards after she was found face-down in a bathtub with about a foot of water. Bobbi Kristina, Bobby’s only child with late singer Houston, died in 2015 while in a hospice after also being found unconscious in her bathtub.
