Twitter Agog as Trump Cancels Super Bowl Eagles Visit

Trump Super Bowl Eagles Visit to the White House

Super Bowl Eagles vs Trump – Monday, June 4th 2018.

US President, Donald Trump on Monday, June 4th, 2018 canceled an already planned invitation to host Super Bowl Eagles at the White House.

In a statement released by the president, he said: “The Philadephia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow”.

He further said this decision was as a result of the Eagles, wanting to send a smaller delegate of their team to the White House. President Trump believes over 1,000 fans expected to be at the occasion, deserve better. He has urged the fans to still visit the White House to be part of a different ceremony – “one that that will honor our great country, pay tribute to the heroes who fight to protect it, and loudly and proudly play the National Anthem. I will be there at 3:00 p.m. with the United States Marine Band and the United States Army Chorus to celebrate America.”

As expected, the keyword Eagles is trending at No.2 in the United States and several users have taken to social media to express their views on the trending issues.

President Trump Most Loyal and Outspoken Supporter – @diamondsilk said “The Philadelphia Eagles need to change their name to the Philadelphia Chickens… Why? True Eagles fly high with confidence not chicken out from going to the White House because they were told to stand for the flag.

@Mikel_Jollett said Remember: “Not a single Philadelphia Eagle kneeled during the anthem this past NFL season. Trump canceled the event because less than half the team even wanted to meet him”.

Another twitter user @realangryboomer praised the team for not being eager to visit the president when he/she tweeted thus “Thank you, Philadelphia Eagles, for standing up for America and not a corrupt regime.”

In response to all of this, Eagles tweeted appreciating fans for their immense support: “It has been incredibly thrilling to celebrate our first Super Bowl championship. Watching the entire Eagle community come together has been an inspiration. We are truly grateful for all the support we have received, and we are looking forward to continuing our preparations for the 2018 season.”
