Ronaldo Scores And Gets Sent Off As Real Madrid Dispatch Barcelona 3-1 In The Spanish Super Cup First Leg At Camp Nou

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo walked the fine line between hero and villain as he scored what proved to be the winner and got himself sent off in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday.

But the Real Madrid superstar could be facing a 5 mtach ban after shoving referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea after he was sent off at the Camp Nou.

Pique’s own goal gave Madrid the lead before Messi levelled from the penalty spot.

Ronaldo, who’d come on for Karim Benzema to loud jeers, announced himself by cutting inside Pique and curling home a 20-yarder that beat Marc Andre ter Stegen in Barca goal, before taking off his shirt and received a yellow card.

Few minutes later he received his second yellow for diving.

Despite being a man down, Marco Asensio rifled home from 25 yards to ensure Madrid take a two goal lead into Wednesday’s return leg at the Bernabeu.
