Further into the investigation of the murder of eight-year old Chikamso, a little girl who was raped and murdered last Saturday in Port-Harcourt; having her vital body parts cut off, the state commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, disclosed the latest development in an interview with Channels TV this morning. The suspect identified as Ifeanyi Dike, is a 200-level undergraduate of the University of Port-Harcourt.
“I’m delighted to inform you that the second suspect who is the principal suspect and allegedly asked him to get those parts has been arrested this morning (Thursday). There are two of them. When the initial (Ifeanyi Dike) suspect was arrested, he confessed to committing the crime and he mentioned that someone asked him to get some parts of a human being for them to make money. That person has been arrested this morning. I strongly suspect that this person we have arrested is involved in the crime. Ifeanyi Dike gave us his contact, claiming that he asked him to get these human parts in order to make money”
Dike was apprehended on Saturday while trying to dispose of the victim’s body. He was arrested but however escaped from detention on Sunday night. The police boss said his men are working towards getting him rearrested.
