Prince Williams Wants £1.3 million Compensation Over Topless Photos Of Kate

Prince Williams

Prince Williams has been accused of hypocrisy and cashing in on his celebrity status by a lawyer after demanding £1.3million compensation over topless photos of his wife Kate.

Over four years ago, celebrity magazine, Closer, and French newspapers released half-naked photos of the Duchess of Cambridge taken while she sunbathed topless at a chateau in Luberon region.

But a lawyer for the French magazine Closer, which printed the images of Kate sunbathing in the south of France in 2012, blasted the crippling payout demand.

He argued that the photos did not constitute a breach of privacy and cast them in a positive light.

Lawyers for the couple outlined their demands on the first days of a criminal court case in the Paris suburb of Nanterre, where six defendants face trial.

Closer magazine was banned from printing any further images by a court in Paris after the royal couple launched their legal proceeding while the case is still ongoing and the royals are demanding comoensation.

The court is expected to reach a verdict on July 4.
