Former Secretary to the Anambra state government, Oseloka Obaze, has emerged winner of PDP governorship primary in Anambra State. At the party primary election which held today, Obaze polled a total of 672 votes to beat his closest rival, Alex Obi-Ogbolu who scored 190 votes while the third candidate, Ifeanyi Ubah, polled 94 votes.
A former secretary to the state government, Obaze’s victory came after the polls was overshadowed by allegations of hacking that forced three candidates – Stella Oduah, John Emeka and Linda Ikpeazu – to drop out of the race.
The three aggrieved candidates called on the PDP Delegate Appeal Panel led by Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to look into the matter.
Incumbent governor Willie Obaino of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is heavily favoured to win another four-year term in office after a commendable first four years that has seen the state soar in terms of revenue and security.
