National Drug Law Enforcement Agency officials arrested nine suspected drug addicts and hawkers and recovered drugs worth over N30million in Zaria, Kaduna state.
NDLEA State Commander, Samuel Azige, disclosed to pressmen at the command headquarter that the suspects were arraigned during a raid at their hideout in Zaria, where they stored the illicit drugs in a warehouse. He also stated that preliminary investigations exposed the stored cartons of banned Tramadol drugs, which weighed over 500g inside a warehouse from which they sell to buyers.
Mr Samuel Azige further explained that the drugs, apart from being banned by World Health Organization, had also expired and have therefore become harmful for human consumption. He then added that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded as they have constituted nuisance by engaging in all forms of vices in the area.
