The Nigerian Police have arrested three herdsmen, who allegedly kidnapped Sanni Bello, a member of the House of Representatives with ten million Naira ransom.
The suspects were identified as Haruna Adamu, 25; Shuaibu Adamu, 18 and Abubakar Saidu, 30.
According to PUNCH Metro, the suspects abducted Sanni Bello on the 2nd of August and held him hostage for three days before his release.
The police said that the gang was responsible for other crimes, including kidnapping on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway and its environs.
On Thursday, after parading the suspects, the police spokesman, Donald Awunah, revealed that N250,000 was recovered from them. He added that Haruna, who is the ring leader had led the police operatives to the location where they buried the ransom.
According to Donald, the suspects were trailed and rounded up at Ungwan Kawu village in the Dan Dumi Local Government Area of Katsina state, by the Intelligence Response Team of the Police.
The ring leader, Haruna, told PUNCH Metro that he got N3million out of the N10million ransom, but had to give N1.5million to a hoodlum in the area, who threatened his gang for operating in his jurisdiction without his consent.
