Former Vice Chancellor of The University of Ibadan Shot by Kidnappers
Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Olufemi Bamiro, was shot and wounded in the right foot by gunmen in a failed kidnap attempt on Tuesday, 4th of October, 2016, at Oluyole area of Ibadan.
Bamiro was the 10th vice chancellor of University of Ibadan. He is a first class graduate and a professor of Mechanical Engineering.
It has recently been revealed by the police that they are on a mission to bring the gunmen to book. The spokesman of the Oyo Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident, said Mr Bamiro was rescued by the quick intervention of some police officers from the Oluyole Division of the command, following a distress call. He has since been transferred to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
