The President of the United State (Potus), Donald Trump has confirmed his telephone conversation with the President of the federal republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.
White House Press Secretary and Communications Director, Sean Michael Spicer confirmed the meeting during his introduction of Tuesday’s White House Press Briefing.
Michael Spicer was reported saying that, President Donald Trump spoke with President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, Jacob Zuma of South Africa and Canada Prime minister, Justin Trudeau on Monday.
According to the president spokesman, Femi Adesina, ”Trump assured the Nigerian president that the US is ready to help obtain “a new deal in helping Nigeria in terms of military weapons to combat terrorism.”
In a statement to CNN, Adesina also said, “President Trump encouraged President Buhari to keep up the good work he is doing, and also commended him for the efforts made in rescuing 24 of the Chibok Girls and the strides being taken by the Nigerian military.”
