Bill Cosby: Racism Behind Sex Scandal Allegations

Bill Cosby

Comedian Bill Cosby will not give evidence when he stands trial for sexual assault next month.

But he has given an extraordinary interview to a radio programme in which he appears to suggest racism could be behind the many claims against him.

During the programme, Cosby spoke with Michael Smerconish  on the SiriusXM POTUS channel that will air Tuesday.

“Nefarious is a great word. And I just truly believe that some of it may very well be that,” Cosby said about the allegations against him.

“I just truly believe that, uh, some of it may very well be that,” Cosby said.

He also seems to claim his dozens of accusers were quote “piling on.”

“Are you telling me that they’re all lying?” Smerconish asked.

“You know better than that,” Cosby responded.

“He has actually been sued for defamation, so there’s no way he’s walking into that trap,” said CBS News legal analyst Rikki Klieman.

This is the first time Cosby has faced criminal charges, although more than 50 women have come forward in recent years. In many of these cases, Cosby cannot stand trial because the statute of limitations has passed.
