University of Ibadan’s Team Adobe emerges winner in the 2016 Unilever Nigeria’s Ideatrophy Competition


On Friday, 26th of August, 2016, Nigerian undergraduates were given another opportunity to showcase their unique creativity and intelligence at the grand finale of the Unilever Nigeria’s annual IdeaTrophy Undergraduate National Business competition.

The boot camp for the competition opened in Lagos on Tuesday, August 23rd, 2016. The contestants were then exposed to the wonderful world of Unilever, and were assigned mentors who are seasoned business professionals, to guide them in the development and delivery of their presentations. The contestants were also a part of personal development and team building sessions, and had the opportunity of meeting and interacting with top executives of Unilever. The contestants also engaged in fun activities like talent shows, aerobics and games.

With this being the 5th edition, there were so many entries from different Nigerian universities. However, six teams made it to the grand finale and were tasked with the responsibility of developing creative ideas to market Unilever’s Close Up.

Team Adobe from the University of Ibadan emerged winner at the competition and they could not help but express their joy. Each member of the team was given an Iphone 6s. The team will also be representing Nigeria at the Africa rounds in South Africa, and then they would proceed to next year’s Unilever Global Future Leader’s League competition in the United Kingdom.
