At the beginning of the match which started at the late hours of Thursday night and ended on Friday morning, Spain started off well and ended the first quarter 25-11 ahead of Nigeria. In same vein, Nigeria fought their way through in the second quarter and cut the deficit to just two points, 43-41.
While trying to avoid their third straight defeat, just like Nigeria, they lost the third quarter 66-65 to Nigeria. However, in the fourth quarter of the game, Spain showed tactical brilliance as they defeated D’Tigers 96-87
D’Tigers of Nigeria must defeat Croatia and Brazil in their next two matches to reach the quarter-finals as they have lost three games against Argentina, Lithuania and now Spain.
